I'm Sarah Eberwein, I'm a fine art wedding and couples photographer based out of Virginia, servicing the Hampton Roads area, DC/ Richmond area, the Outer banks and beyond.

I've been in the photography game for over 8 years now, after shooting so many weddings I've had the chance to narrow down my style and approach to create work that I'm proud of and my couples to love for years to come. I like to think of myself as an artful storyteller, so here's a bit more about how I tell those stories.

My Approach

I don't believe in the hyper perfect, manufactured feeling photography style. Your wedding is a REAL day full of REAL emotions, special moments, and people, that's what I aim to capture. My style what I'd call curated documentary style, I'm not going to fake a bunch of moments (which happens so often in wedding photography) but I'll be there to frame the real ones, and use my artistic eye and sensibilities to do it.

But don't worry, I'm not going to leave you high and dry when it comes to things like bridal portraits and group shots. I'll give you all my years of expertise to help you look your best, and with some fun cues and direction we'll create some stunning authentic images together that you'll cherish for years to come.

I care about investing in my relationships with my couples and I love to build friendships with them. I never want to walk into a wedding day and have my bride or groom feel like a stranger just walked into the room, so I make it a priority to get to know who I'm working with before the big day, I love long get-to-know you chats over coffee, hearing your stories and learning about what's most important to you.

My Story

One summer I picked up photography as a hobby, the next thing I knew somebody told me "hey, I like your instagram, can I hire you to take pictures?" I felt super under qualified but that summer I shot my first wedding and the couple loved it! That was 9 years ago, I've gotten the chance to grow and work under some talented industry experts, travel, work with business, models, and some of the coolest, nicest people I know.

I love how photography gives me the opportunity to show people just have unique and beautiful they are, and build lasting connections (one of my very first brides is still my good friend, I've gotten to watch her beautiful family grow over the years). I've laughed, cried and danced alongside my couples and I take it to be a real privilege to be able to walk alongside them on one of the most important days of their life.

A little about me

I'm a huge beach bum and boat gal, my idea of the perfect day is hanging out on the beach or on the water (preferably on Hatteras island on the OBX) getting in a good post-beach-nap and then eating my bodyweight in seafood. My faith is super important to me and I absolutely love my church community. I love hanging out with other creatives and have a big soft spot for musicians, I love to go see local bands playing in my neighborhood, hitting the gym and eating as much sushi as I possibly can.
